The final feature in Issue No. 18 is a collection of poems by Peruvian poet, Javier Ortiz Cabrejos. Javier has described his work as inspired by meditation and as “like the aroma that we can perceive even without understanding many of the things that are expressed there.
There are people who do not practice meditation and do not appreciate poetry but they have heard these poems and feel as if floating in the words of God, as in clouds of love”.
Javier’s poems are stunning in their vibrancy, transcendence and fullness of emotional spirituality. His multiple works appear here in Issue No. 18 both in their original Spanish version and English translation. Selections here include works such as Umbral (Threshold), Amor Libre (Free Love), Los Ríos Del Océano (Rivers of the Ocean), Purushottam Gita, Altiplano (High Plateau), and Silencio (Silence).
Javier’s work can be described as ecstatic, mystical poetry, delicately intertwining the mortal, human world with the reality of its potential celestial, divine, immortal reality—revealing experiences of deeper levels of creation and exquisite flavours of inner consciousness.
The poems are featured in his work Brahm Darshan composed of 18 books with poems from 1980 to 2010: thirty years of poetry of transcendence. Including 138 poems across 252 pages, Brahm Darshan was published under the seal of Mesa Redonda in Perú with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Perú, and was also introduced in Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.
In its title, Brahm Darshan, Javier alerts us to the significance of these poems: they reference Brahm, the totality of consciousness, and Darshan, which can be understood as vision, cognition, or gaining the insight of Brahm, gaining knowledge of an ocean of infinitude. The ocean is within, the Being of one’s own nature, and in which the delicate distinction or gap between air and space are perceived and known intimately as the level of transcendental body.
In Los Ríos Del Océano Javier presents questions and paints pictures evoking worlds within an ocean of creation, of unending life.
Inspired by the high planes, or Altiplano, of the Andes, in Altiplano Javier brings together his innermost perceptions among the deep, enduring presence of ancient laws and the force of nature’s intelligence supporting such a place over millennia.
Javier’s poems have been described as silently occupying space, not with ideas but with soft and powerful words that evoke a full silence, whispering the infinity of life, opening a real, possible experience of fullness.
The author’s mystical poems, which he acknowledges are based on his experience of practicing the Transcendental Meditation technique, are, as if, an autobiography of Being. His work also appears in Ajos & Zafiros and Imaginario del Arte.
He co-directed National Radio Peru’s Universal Mystical Poetry program and won the second prize from the National Award of Poetry by Ricardo Palma University from Perú in 1998. In addition to his poetry, Javier has published widely in Uno Mismo, Arquitextos, ARQ, Casas, El Comercio, Proyecta, and Apuntes and is one of Latin America’s few experts in Maharishi Vedic Architecture and urban planning. His forthcoming book Cosmic Architecture explores the common basis of design in the ancient architectures of the world. Javier has led numerous Consciousness-Based Education initiatives throughout Latin America—with the Transcendental Meditation technique, Transcendental Meditation-Sidhi program, and Yoga Asanas taught to more than 50,000 students in 60 schools.

presenta preguntas y pinta cuadros evocando mundos dentro de un océano de
creación, de vida sin fin.
Inspirado por los planos altos, en el Altiplano de los
Andes, en Altiplano Javier reúne sus percepciones más
íntimas entre la presencia profunda y duradera de leyes antiguas y la fuerza de
la inteligencia de la naturaleza que sostiene tal lugar desde hace milenios.
Los poemas de Javier han sido descritos como "ocupando el espacio silenciosamente, no con
ideas, sino con palabras suaves y poderosas que evocan un silencio completo,
susurrando la infinitud de la vida, abriendo una experiencia real y posible de
plenitud".
Los poemas místicos del autor, que reconoce que se basan
en su experiencia de practicar la técnica de la Meditación Trascendental, son,
como si fueran, una autobiografía del Ser.
Su
trabajo también aparece en las revistas de literatura Ajos & Zafiros e Imaginario
del Arte. Codirigió el
programa de Poesía Mística Universal de Radio Nacional del Perú y ganó el
segundo lugar del Premio Nacional de Poesía de la Universidad Ricardo Palma de
Perú en 1998. Además de su poesía, Javier ha publicado ampliamente en Uno
Mismo, Arquitextos, ARQ, Casas, El Comercio, Proyecta y Apuntes y es uno de los
pocos expertos de América Latina en Arquitectura Védica Maharishi y
planificación urbana. Su próximo libro Cosmic Architecture explora
la base común del diseño en las arquitecturas más antiguas del mundo. Javier
ha liderado numerosas iniciativas de Educación Basada en la Conciencia a través
de Latin America, con la técnica de Meditación Trascendental, el programa de MT-Sidhis y las Asanas de Yoga enseñadas a más de 50,000
estudiantes en 60 escuelas.
